Process Group Therapy

Most of what we communicate happens through the body—through breath, posture, tension, movement, and energetic presence. In a Core Energetics process group, we work directly with these nonverbal expressions, bringing awareness to what your body is communicating, often outside of conscious awareness.

A process group is a small, committed group where your patterns are not just talked about—they are felt, seen, and experienced in real time. The group becomes a living field where you can observe how your body organizes in relationship: where you hold back, where you reach, where you collapse, brace, or push. This level of direct feedback and contact cannot be accessed in the same way in individual work.

The work is grounded in the body. Sessions include breathwork, grounding, movement, sound, and physical expression, along with direct interpersonal interaction. You may be invited to notice where you hold tension, allow impulses to emerge, give voice to what is unspoken, or physically move energy that has been held in the body over time.

Through this process, you begin to:

  • Recognize how your body expresses emotion before you think it

  • Identify where energy is constricted, collapsed, or over-controlled

  • Safely mobilize and release held charge (such as anger, grief, fear, or longing)

  • Increase your capacity to stay present in your body while in contact with others

  • Experience more grounded, authentic, and spontaneous expression

As the body opens and energy begins to move, new possibilities for connection emerge. You are no longer limited to habitual responses, but can respond from a more integrated, embodied place.

Process group therapy is not only about insight—it is about changing how you experience yourself in your body and in relationship, moment by moment.
